HCG Q&A: Use of Hair and Skin Care Products

Q&A:
Received the following questions from a client on the HCG weight loss program in regard to the use of skin and hair care products:
Q:
I just bought the program. Can I use any kind of shampoo/conditioner, hairspray or products on my hair? if not, which kinds can or can’t I use? Can i continue to color my hair? Can I use Baby oil on my skin after the shower?
A:
Hello “CLIENT”,
Thank you for contacting us regarding which products to use while on our programs.
While is it best to go as natural and organic as possible, sometimes it is not possible for some clients. Generally you can use most any kind of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and products as long as they are oil-free, or contain very little oil such as Coconut oil. Neutragena has a great line of such products we have found.
In regard to baby oil, it would be best not to use it on the skin during the program. The reason is that the skin is semi-porous and does absorb oils and other products quite well. In the original research done on the hcg diet, the original doctor and his team found that some clients have weight loss stall when they used such products. While this is not the case for all clients, since the program is not real long, it would be best to err on the side of caution. However, if you choose to use some oils, see how your body responds for a few days and use your best judgement at that time.
I hope this has helped. Please let us know as you go through your program and have any additional questions.
We look forward to hearing from you again
Sincerely,
Daniel Riedel, Body Solutions Rx Inc.
